Planning

Planning
Brainstorming
For our main task film we first had to plan out everything that we would do and every record every detail about the main task, we first started off by planning out the story and if we were going to go for a certain sub-genre thriller, we first decided that it would be an action-adventure genre but then we decided that horror-thriller would best fit in with most of the ideas that we had.
First we talked about some of the ideas that we had that we would incorporate into our short film, we did this by brainstorming our ideas into a mind map, so we could get a clear idea on the final ideas for our film.
This is the ideas that we came up with including some of the characters, some of the shots and editing we will incorporate in our film.
Storyboards
We then as a group discussed some of our ideas on our brainstorming sheet and decided that we would combine all of our ideas together so that we all got a chance to create our own scene in our film. We then talked about how our film would be set out and which scenes would go after each other, we planned this out by using a storyboard so that we had a clear idea of which scenes go after another allowing us to have a clear final idea of what our main task short film would look like.

This is our storyboard that includes the final structure for our film.

Filming Schedule & Risk Assessment
We first discussed about some of the things that we would need for the film such as the actors, props and the locations as well as the planning out the filming schedule, to see which days that we would film and what props we would need to use on each day.
We decided that each day we would spread out the filming so that in our group we all had a chance to film.
With the risk assessment we all went over it together because we had to figure out what would be risks during our filming sessions, but as our location is at Charlotte Hunter's House we thought that there wouldn't be much risks that came up.
This is the Final risk Assessment that includes all the possible risks during filming, as well as  the schedule  for some of the props that we would need to get to create effect in our film.

Location
For our location we wanted to just go with a simple house that we could then make up to fit our horror-thriller genre, after some discussion we decided that Charlotte Hunter's house fits in perfectly with some of the things that we needed for our thriller film, for example
The kitchen is used because it is where we first discover a body and start to get an idea of the film.
The dining room is used as another one of the murder scenes , where some of our  props are used such as the teddy bear and the rope.
The bathroom is used in the last scene showing the murder of the third victim.
This is one of the first shots seen in our short film suggesting that it is just a normal house but then inside is a whole different story.
