Editing
After finishing our filming we went onto editing our film, we first looked at all of the shots that we filmed and picked out the ones that we were going to use for our short film, as a group of four we all decided that we would equal out the editing like we did whilst filming, we first placed all the shots together just to see what they look like together and how long the film is all together, we then began to edit things in and out of the film to make it flow better. Whilst editing we saw that for an opening scene the shots that we have used are a bit too much so we had to work around the shots we have to try and make it look less busy and flow more.
During the editing process we realised that we would have to put a lot of effort into the final part of our film, because it was such an important task. We took it in turns to go through the editing process and stages, such as the sound we would use, some of the shots we would take out and put in to give off the full effect of the film.
One thing that I discovered whilst filming was that a lot of the effects that were given on adobe premier pro could be used in our film as the more editing we used the more effect it got, and we wanted to match all the things that are expected from a horror-thriller genre film. One thing that I made sure was included in our project was the right amount of editing, so not too much and not too little, so it was just the right amount to make our film the best it could be. One thing that I did personally was go through all the clips that we had shot and choose which one we would use in the final task, I firstly merged them all together, which made the film cut after every shot so I used a lot of the editing choices to make sure that the film wasn't jumpy and didn't cut after every shot so that it would flow more and look more like an opening of a film.
We used the editing to speed up some of the filming that we did, and to also slow down some of the filming. Although one major thing that we did in our final main edit was to stop on the "bad guy's" face and then rewind throughout the whole first minute to give it a creepier effect and to draw the audience in to the film.
